RELATIONSHIP CURRENCY: WHAT DO YOU VALUE IN RELATIONSHIPS

bank notes, bills, cash

“If cash is king, where do relationships stand?”

Relationships throughout history have always taken on different forms as time progressed. But in today’s society there are so many meanings for what relationship currency stand for. How do you define what it means to have relationship currency? Now when I say relationships it can mean marriage or even a friendship. Currency can mean something of monetary value or it can mean something of mental/emotional value. I am here to ask which one is important to you. A lot of people say money and others say what someone has to offer. Some people want a monogamous relationship others don’t. So which is important to you?

The majority of people in society hear relationship and automatically think it has to do with dating or marriage. But what about friendships; how important is friendships and what is their currency. We usually dictate friendship by what the person has to bring emotionally to the table. Because what is the use in hanging around people who are not in your best interest. And what I mean by that, it’s heading in the same direction as you. This doesn’t mean you want to be a physician they should be doctors. No, it should mean that they have some type of goal in life. If they don’t and you do, you guys will fall apart from each other. So relationship currency in friendships should be pushing each other to do better which translate into non-monetary currency.

Well, what about monogamous relationships, currency is important here. But what type of currency? What type of currency is important to you in a relationship? Let’s observe from an emotional standpoint. When you’re looking at monogamy from an emotional standpoint, then you’re talking about how much meaning you bring into someones’ life. This means that when one of you are weak, how well does the other counteract that weakness with strength. And that in itself can be seen as sometimes and even greater form of currency than the monetary. But what about the monetary? There are people that look to this as a form of currency in relationships.

When in monogamous relationship, having an income coming into the house is very important. Maybe not when you’re in your early twenties, but what about once you hit your thirties. Once you get to this point, it’s the getting your life together point. The time where you need to really have it carved in stone where you would like to see yourself in the years to come. Now, money isn’t everything, but when you’re talking about settling down and having a family, you need to keep this in mind. Take into consideration the cost of buying a home, car, paying off any debts, and long term investments like retirement. This is where monetary currency is very important to your future success in a monogamous relationship.

In the end, the meaning of relationship currency can take on many different meanings. It’s up to the person/s interpreting what the currency means or even what the word relationship means. No matter how you look at it, know the currency you are looking for, but also know what your value is as well.

BE AMERICAN; REALLY! WHY EXPRESSING ETHNIC PRIDE IS THE REAL AMERICA

United States of America Flag

“We are not everyone else, we are us.”

In the United States, we always tell people to stop qualifying themselves by these different ethnic groups. But in my opinion, we are this country because of our ambiguous racial makeup. We say stuff like, “Drop that you’re from wherever crap, you’re American.” But just observe the history of America. We are strong as a country because we have the best of the different parts of the world. Name another country where you have so many different countries that makeup an entire nation like us. And the fact that we live in this country harmoniously says a lot about our nation. And what do I mean by racial ambiguity?

Look at a city like New York for example. During the late 1800’s and early 1900’s there was an immigration wave from various parts of the globe. People flocked into Ellis Island from Italy, Sicily, Poland, Ireland, and various bother parts of Europe. People who worked to build this city, and soon after other groups flocked to New York. The Puerto Ricans, Dominicans after, and African Americans from the south flocked to the Northeast. Everyone brought with them something from their group that was great. It’s what contributes to the flavor of New York City. Now what about other parts of the United States? In Chicago, on St. Patricks Day, the Irish dye the river green.

It’s because of the previous passage that we are a great nation. If we tried being like everyone else, it would hurt this country. Why because of our ambiguity ethnically. Meaning, most countries have one religion, one ethnic group, and one language. We have one language, but many dialects, a major religion, but many sects of it, and many different ethnic groups. So being American is not like being China, India, Russia, France, or Nigeria. But we have each of these places in America. And each place has people from them that has contributed something significant to America. Which is why I want people to take pride in who they are as a group. Having a pride in yourself and where you come from is important in building ones’ self-esteem, self-respect, and confidence.

In the end, having an American identity is showing your love for your culture. I think when people hear ethnic identity, they automatically think racial segregation or hate for someone else. And that’s not true, you can take pride in your identity and also respect other people in the process.

THE PATRIOT AGENDA: WHY PEOPLE REALLY ARE UPSET WITH KAEPERNICK

Image result for kaepernick

“Disrespecting the flag; there has to be more to the hate.”

It has been nearly six months since the end of the 2016 NFL season and quarterback Colin Kaepernick is still without a job. For those who are unaware of Colin Kaepernick, he is an NFL quarterback who last played for the San Francisco 49ers. Colin received adulation from many as he aided in rallying his team to the NFL Super Bowl back in 2013. Although they lost against the Baltimore Ravens 34 – 31, Kaepernick saw himself becoming a prospect among top NFL quarterbacks. But last season in 2016, Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem sighting he was protesting police brutality against minorities. He stated he could not stand and pledge to a flag, which represented freedom while innocent Black men were being killed by cops.

It immediately sent people into a rage. He was receiving everything from hate mail from fans to sportscasters attacking him. But my question is, “Are people really this patriotic?” Because as I walk the streets on a daily basis, I see plenty of opportunities to be patriotic, but people don’t. You walk through the mall and see military recruitment offices. With how patriotic people are being, you would think that recruitment offices are packed. They are not, as a matter of fact, they are having a hard time recruiting in military. Why in a nation where a president just said we need a stronger military is there limited military enrollment. Because no one want to risk their child going into battle over something they may not agree with.

So why not just be honest about how we really feel. Memorial Day was yesterday and we all had flags flying. Gave discounts on food at restaurants, and some people even shook the hands of troops. But on a daily we don’t live that way. So once again, where does the real sentiment over Colin Kaepernick come from in America? I’m sure there is a demographic of people who take issue with Kaepernick, but what is the real reason? To me, I have two positions on why people take issue with Colin. The first is a racial aspect and the other financial.

The reason I say racial is because outspoken Black males have been an issue with a lot of people throughout history. Jim Brown was criticized in the past and now Kaepernick. And it not only is in sports, it extends itself to all sorts of American life. I wonder would the same outcry of emotion come when it’s a popular White player. I have a theory and my theory is such. I feel people want to say, “You shouldn’t even be in your position.” “Be lucky you’re there because if not for sports you probably wouldn’t be doing nothing with your lives.” “I’m sick of Black people talking, shut up do what I say, and leave it at that.” Patriotism is real, but it’s not this real in America. How about another reason to be angry?

That other reason could be financial in America. We are living in society where so many people are stressed from not having their money right. Now this millionaire athlete they feel is complaining, so they are fighting back. I come from the Midwest, and plenty of people are barely surviving. So they are bringing their own financial woes into the equation. To them, they don’t know one moment to the next if they will survive or not, so they need a reason to be upset. A lot of people angry don’t watch football, or don’t even watch the team that Colin plays for in the NFL. So it’s just another aspect of America that gives people the reason to be angry.

In the end, people may have a legitimate reason for not liking what he did, but the level of disdain is not real. It’s not real because we are not this patriotic on this level in our daily society. If it were reflective in our daily lives I wouldn’t mind. But we are also very selective in our fights. We are for what people believe as long as it is for something we like in life. Good is good if it’s good for me. But at this point, I don’t see Colin on a team anytime soon. For now he is in limbo and only time will tell.

FAST FORWARD: WHY WE WANT TO SPEED UP TIME TO SUCCESS

Clear Glass With Red Sand Grainer

“No one wants to wait, we just want to be there.”

Success takes a lot of time; sometimes more time than we are willing to wait. Don’t you wish sometimes you could just fast forward your way through time. Well, at least until you’re in a more comfortable position in life. Yet, when we fast forward, there are other non-controllable things that can happen as well. Are we willing to deal with those as well? You may be successful, but people around you might die. Your loved ones could perish without you being able to say your last good-byes. So why not just let time tick as time ticks? It’s that long arduous road to where you want to be that’s why.

When we start out in life, it’s usually at the bottom. At the bottom financially, at the bottom socially. And we all have this place where we would like to be. But the time it takes to get there is so long, we wish we could fast forward to success. Well, what happens if we could? But your success you want is at the age of 60. You click forward at age 25 and now you just missed out on nearly 40 years of life. You will miss out on so much on that road to success that your end result is not even worth the time moving forward. You want to enjoy all the time it took to get you where you want to go. If not, once you reach success, you may not appreciate it. Yet we still want to keep moving forward nonetheless.

Unless that is, you get a certain level of success at a young age. Then, no one wants to push the time forward. You want to live in every moment of the time you are in. But people around you may not want to push the time forward. And all of these people not willing to wait comes from a lack of guarantee. Who want to put in so much work and then nothing formulates in the end. What if you fast forward years and still nothing? What did your life really mean? Just because you say fast forward until I am successful, doesn’t mean there is success in your life. Your life might actually be failure after failure after failure. Can you stomach your existence on Earth boiling down to nothing?

In the end, people don’t want to live in the moment especially when the moment is so awful. We don’t want to grind it out to get nothing in the end. On the other hand, if you don’t do anything there is nothing in itself. In today’s society, we are currently in a strange time as it pertains to success. There is no real path to take in life. Years ago the path lead to somewhere, now the path can go up, down, side to side, and reverse. It’s whatever you make the path out to be. And that’s what it comes down to, making life what you want it to be. Because in the end, it’s your life.

MEMORANDUM: WHY WE SHOULD APPRECIATE OUR TROOPS

Related image

“Stand with them, not just for them.”

Tomorrow is Memorial Day, which is the celebration for our men and women who wear the uniform of our armed forces. The men and women who perform a thankless job for protecting this country. Those who are called to war, not because we tell them to do so, but because they feel it is their core belief. And like I said before, a thankless job. Whenever a professional sports team win a championship, there is a celebration in the streets. Yet when our armed forces return home, it’s usually a family member to greet them. We rarely celebrate their coming home, why? Why do we just take it for granted?

When these men and women return home we look at them like, “Oh, that’s what you’re supposed to do for me.” “You’re supposed to want to die for me living in the comforts of my living room.” All the while, they are being shot at in some foreign country they’ve never been to; on terrain they’ve never seen Image result for troops homebefore. But nonetheless, they do their duty and come home. We give them half off on a Memorial Day brunch and say we did our part. But what about a little more. Why not take this time instead to push for programs that will aid in their matriculation back into society? They most likely have spent time, for the ones who fought, shooting and killing. Now they’re supposed to come back home and live a normal life.

How do we expect them to live normal if we don’t assist? Their duty has been to fight, but what is ours? If someone is willing to say, “I am fighting because it’s my duty.” Why not help them out with something? I’m not saying it necessarily has to be of monetary value. I’m talking more of Image result for homeless troopspsychological treatment. Because if their minds are right, then they can earn their own livings and live a normal life. If any candidates are qualified for free health care it should be armed forces who fought in foreign wars. And that help should be mental. Or better yet, someone who lost a limb and is now disabled. They walk the streets, and people stare, not knowing what they sacrificed.

And the other reason why they deserve it is because we spend so much money on foreign aid to other nations. Yet we let the men and women who give their lives fighting for us nothing.  If a hurricane wipes out a village in some foreign land we hold telethons and major events. But none of the like when troops come home from war. So, in the end, we should take care of our own before assisting others. In America unless there is a draft, you have the freedom to join willingly. That shouldn’t mean, you join, it’s your problem. Why do we treat it like it’s a punishment instead of something to commend. It not only should, but must change. Otherwise we lose a piece of our identity as a nation.

VISION BOARD: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TIME

blueprint, brainstorming, bulb

“It’s not guaranteed to work, but keeps you on track.”

We all close our eyes and contemplate where we would like to see ourselves in the future. Now getting to that point is a lot harder than the vision. So what do we have to do, we have to create a vision board for where we would like to see ourselves in the future. Once again, writing down the visions is quite simple, but getting to the point where you are living out the vision is difficult. So why even create a vision board? If it’s not some sure fire guarantee, what’s the purpose of doing so. The purpose is that it keeps you on track toward the goal in life you are seeking to accomplish.

Let’s say you would like to run your own business. This is where vision boards are very necessary. Simply because you have to project outward how well your business could potentially perform. So you have no other choice Close-up of Text on Woodbut to think of the future when doing so. You have to calculate projections 3 – 6 months, 6 – 12 months, and even years out. If you your business is in order then you’re going to reach your visions. And that’s how you accomplish your vision in business. Keep the business end in tact and moving forward, then your vision will formulate. But business is not the only vision one has in life.

What about the plans you have for buying a house. We have this image of a house in mind that we would like to purchase. But how are we going to attain that house that we want. One way to get that house is by first starting White Painted House Under Orange Skyout buying a smaller home. Invest in a starter, maybe a fixer-upper and work from there. You’re most likely not going to live in your dream house as your first residence unless you go pro in a sport at a young age. The average Joe will have to first buy a starter home. Or you might even have to buy a condo to start with until you build to the point where you have your dream house.

Another need to build yourself a vision board is in regards to paying off debts. We see ourselves being financially set by a certain age. But we don’t quite know how to get to that point in life. So how do we create ourselves aadministration, analytics, businessvision board for that time when we are debt free? One way is to set aside a certain amount of money that will be strictly used for paying off bills. Stick to this plan and you will still be young when you are done paying off your debts.

In the end, a vision board is very necessary in keeping yourself on track to where you want to be in life. There is still no guarantee, but if you don’t at least write it down and work at sticking to your goal, you will not get to it. You will have this vision, but getting there becomes tough or even impossible because there is no real direction. It’s just a vision. I have been on track with my own vision board for the past 7 years. I am giving myself 10 years to break into my career field. And with everyday that I awake, I see myself getting closer and closer to attaining my goals.

A NATION IN PERIL: WHAT AMERICA MUST DO MOVING FORWARD

Boy Looking at the Hole

“When did we become a nation of fear?”

Recently, there was a terrorist attack in an arena in the United Kingdom after an Ariana Grande concert. Nearly two dozen were killed and many more were injured. What this did was put the United States on high alert with regards to our arenas, stadiums, airports, etc. This, on top of an already nervous country scared as it pertains to the future of our nation. So what is it; how has America turned into this nation of fear? We used to approach situations with confidence, now everything is based off of fear. We used to have fight, now we find any reason not to fight. I have a few reasons as to why this might be.

For decades, America has pride itself on being a strong economy. But due to factory jobs being shipped overseas and an economic downturn, a lot of people have lost confidence. And with that loss in confidence, people have become scared for their futures. All coupled with the ever rising issues pertaining to Islamic extremists groups. Now in American society, we base so much on fear. Every time you turn on the news it is a constant rotation of how afraid you should be. Airports blar alarm systems that test our capabilities of being ready in case of an attack. It’s starting to feel like the 1940’s through the 1950’s. How school children used to have to hid under desk and in closets because we thought the Soviets would drop a nuke on America.

Now here we are in the United States today, once again, afraid for our lives. But, we are not afraid for our lives at the same time. We are not afraid of a foreign enemy, we’re afraid of our future here in this country. And the terrorist just adds to the already fear for our future. So with the industrial revolution running its course and limited jobs, as well as a divisive political landscape, we have all these fears. One the other hand, there is actually a lot more money to be made and the threat of terror will always be there. So what should the country do to get ourselves out of this rut we are in as a nation.

Number one, people must admit that we are in a rut. We must admit we are not like we used to be. Another aspect of getting out of our rut, is to eliminate this fear inside. And it comes from the attacks globally. America should be able to look these men engaging in terror in the eyes and threaten retaliation if they attack us. Do it, and be righteous. I’m not saying we should be violent, but we have to protect ourselves as well. But most of all, America is socially ruined and is in need of some serious repair. In the end, we have to find a way to bring that fight back into the country. Move past these petty differences, and propel ourselves forward into a nation of success.
